The X Media Downloader extension ("the Extension") is designed with your privacy in mind. The Extension operates primarily by analyzing the network traffic already flowing to your local browser from X.com to locate media files. We do not track, store, or log the media you download.

2. Third-Party Services (VxTwitter API)

In cases where a video file is cached and cannot be retrieved locally, the Extension utilizes a secure, public third-party fallback (the VxTwitter API) to retrieve the video. When this fallback is triggered, the public Tweet ID is sent to the API to locate the media URL. No personally identifiable information or account data is ever transmitted.

3. Permissions Explained

• Downloads: Required to save the media files directly to your device.
• Host Permissions (*://*.twitter.com/*, etc.): Required to overlay the download button on the webpage and intercept the media URLs.
